Explore the programs below to learn how you may qualify:
Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program
The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.
Eligibility:
- Must be employed full-time by a government or non-profit organization (like ours!)
- Must have federal Direct Loans (or consolidate other federal loans into a Direct Loan)
- Must make 120 qualifying payments under an eligible income-driven repayment (IDR) plan
- Must submit an annual Employment Certification Form (ECF)
Why It’s Great:
After 10 years of qualifying service, your remaining loan balance may be forgiven—tax-free.
National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program
The NHSC LRP offers loan repayment opportunities to licensed health care providers who commit to working at an approved NHSC site in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA).
Eligibility:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national
- Must be a licensed provider in eligible disciplines (e.g., primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, dentists, and behavioral health providers)
- Must work at a NHSC-approved service site
- Must commit to full- or part-time service for at least two years
Award Amounts:
- Up to $75,000 for a 2-year full-time commitment
- Up to $37,500 for a 2-year half-time commitment
Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program
The Nurse Corps LRP helps registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, and nurse faculty repay up to 85% of unpaid nursing education debt in exchange for a three-year service commitment at a Critical Shortage Facility or eligible nursing school.
Eligibility:
- Must be a registered nurse (RN), advanced practice RN, or nurse faculty
- Must work at an eligible Critical Shortage Facility or accredited school of nursing
- Must have completed nursing education and be licensed
Award Details:
- Up to 60% of unpaid nursing student loans for the initial two-year commitment
- Option for an additional third year commitment for up to an additional 25%
Student Loan Payment Assistance Program
Our organization is committed to supporting the financial well-being and ongoing professional development of our employees. The Center’s Student Loan Payment Assistance Program is designed to assist employees in obtaining loan forgiveness and/or loan payment reimbursement through federal, state, and/or other applicable programs.
Eligibility:
- Be a full-time employee and maintain full-time employment throughout participation in the program
- Have outstanding student loans that meet the eligibility requirements of applicable forgiveness/reimbursement programs
- Comply with all application and documentation requirements of applicable forgiveness/reimbursement programs throughout participation in the program.
- Be in good standing with the organization
Benefit Amount:
- Reimbursement amounts vary based on your role and hours worked
- Paid directly to the employee each month upon proof of payment
